SVVGA is heading to King of Prussia, PA this week for the Wineries Unlimited trade show. This is the largest trade show east of the Rockies for wineries, growers and related industry. It is also a trade show that, now, has enourmous impacts on demand for Suisun Valley grapes, juice and bulk wine.
This is the 4th consecutive year of participation and very solid market position has been established. Much of that has been the direct result of working with a group of key grape distributors: M&M Wine Grapes of Conneticut, Gino Pinto of New Jersey, Consumer Produce of Pennsylvania. These companies not only sell our fruit, but take the responsibility to get it properly transported (refrigerated trans continental carriage) to their respective areas. That is beyond what a grower could accomplish on their own without huge expense of logistics management.
SVVGA is also sponsoring an evening dinner for key accounts with M&M Wine Grape. Not surprisingly, many wines crafted from previous years fruit grace the tables of this dinner.
A first look at 2009 wine is offered to those who stop by the booth. Samples of various varietals crushed and fermented in Suisun Valley wineries are taken so the industry gets a look at the fresh juice of last season, long before it has been finished and bottled. It allows a winemaker to understand the raw product so they can conclude what they might fashion in their own style. If attending the trade show, stop by both 308 and have a taste.
